Police were called to the stretch of the A1198 near the junction with Fox Road at 7.03pm after the 17-year-old driver of a silver Mini One lost control of the vehicle before leaving the road and colliding with a fence. An 18-year-old girl was also a passenger in the car. One fire crew from St Neots, one from Papworth and one from Gamlingay were called and rescued one of the girls who was trapped by 7.59pm. An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said it sent a rapid response car, two hazardous area response team vehicles, an officer and an ambulance, plus a Magpas car was also sent. Medics treated one of the girls, who was suffering from reduced levels of consciousness, plus the other who was walking wounded. They were both taken to Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, for further treatment, but the EEAST spokesman said they did not appear to be in a critical condition.
