In a thrilling display of stuffed animal bravery, 10 teddy bears were thrown from a plane over Rookery Farm, Pidley, in aid of the Pidley International charity. Pidley International trustee Su McLean-Tooke said: The weather wasnt as great we hoped but we still managed to raise over £1,700 and still have sponsorship money to come in everyone seemed to enjoy the day. Each bear was sponsored by local businesses and residents, with the aim of the competition to try and land the teddy nearest to a mark. The top prize went to the Rollins Farm bear. The event has been running for more than 10 years to help raise funds to improve the quality of life and independence of disabled and disadvantaged people within Huntingdonshire.
