AMONG the teams in the World Conker Championships 2006, which raises money for charities for the partially sighted and blind, was one from Ramsey Round Table. Tabler Bill Barber said: "Our team of four arrived with great hopes, having practised for literally hours in the run-up to the competition. Sadly, however, there were others whose dedication to the sport was greater and at the end of the day we were not troubling the leaderboard. Nevertheless, the team had a great day and we are full of praise for the organisers, now in their 42nd year.
