The owner of a swingers’ club in Alconbury has lost a high court bid to keep the doors of the venue open.
Stewart Hobbs has been ordered to leave Hotel Ace, at Alconbury Truckstop, by April 23. Mr Hobbs’s club, named Tease II, has been based at the hotel since 2011.
“At the end of the trial last month I lost the right to appeal so it is due to the court case that I will be leaving,” Mr Hobbs told The Hunts Post.
In August 2013 Mr Hobbs was served an eviction notice by the then truckstop owners the Heys Group, which, at the time, had plans to redevelop the site.
Despite this, Mr Hobbs fought to keep the club open.
Following the latest court decision, Mr Hobbs has decided he will set up a new club which will be marketed in a “different direction” by only welcoming invited guests. “The bottom end of the market is saturated now so I will be looking at the top end of the market which is where the money is and it will be a different venue to what I’m in now,” Mr Hobbs said.
Mr Hobbs added that he is looking at “three or four different venues”, all located outside of Cambridgeshire.

Mr Hobbs told The Hunts Post he will be calling his new venue Tease III to continue the name of his well-known brand. He hopes to have the new venue open within the next eight months.
At its height, Mr Hobbs, from Market Deeping, Lincolnshire, said the club in Alconbury boasted about 8,500 members.
