After being given the all clear by doctors a decade ago a Hartford mother is hoping to give back to the charity that supported her.
Nushaba Mahmood, who runs the Hartford Village Store, in Main Street, hosted a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan who helped her while suffering with tongue cancer.
Surrounded by her family and friends Mrs Mahmood was amazed with the support from those who tucked into cake and sipped mugs of coffee.
She said: “I am so happy that I am here for my kids - that is a big achievement. The Macmillan team were so supportive as that time was difficult as I couldn’t open up in front of my family – Macmillan always listened and offered fantastic advice.”
As a part of the coffee morning the 29-year-old’s family had baked an array of sweet treats along with a variety of savoury delicacies for all to try.
After selling dozens of cakes and coffee’s the morning raised more £810 to help continue the work of Macmillan.
