A section of the A14 was closed this morning (Tuesday) following what emergency services described as a “serious collision” between a lorry and two vans.

Cambridgeshire police and Highways England officials closed a stretch of the eastbound carriageway between junction 18, at Spaldwick, and junction 21, at Brampton Hut, because of the collision, which took place at about 7am.

East of England Ambulance Service paramedics also attended and it is understood that the air ambulance was called to the scene.

It is believed that six people were injured in the incident, with one person sustaining serious injuries.

The road was cleared by emergency services and re-opened again at 8.45am.
