The event will see the freehold and the keys to the museum handed over from Cambridgeshire County Council to the Cromwell Museum Trust and Huntingdon Town Council. This ceremony will thank everyone in the local community and beyond who has played a vital role in ensuring that the museum remains open to the public. A procession will take place at 11.45am members of the Sealed Knot and the Mayor of Huntingdon will lead representatives of the trust and the two councils from Huntingdon Town Hall to the museum where the keys will be formally given over. Peter Johnson, chairman of the new trust, said: We want this to be the start of a new era for the museum, and we are going to be working with the new director and our wonderful friends and volunteers to ensure that this key piece of our local and national heritage becomes even more accessible and prominent. Following the ceremony a day of activities will take place from 12-3pm at the museum.
