Teachers and staff at St Peter’s School in Huntingdon swapped the classroom for the stage as they presented their own pantomime to the students.

Lessons were suspended on Friday morning (December 13) for the staff's rendition of Cinderella, which included headteacher Val Ford as the wicked stepmother.

Julia Robson, who produced the show, said: “Normally we take our Year 7 students out to see a pantomime but last year we got a production company into the school.

“Then we had the idea to put on a pantomime ourselves.

“We held the auditions and there was so much interest that we had three step sisters and a Shrek!”

She added: “We did a performance for staff on Wednesday that was very well received.

“I think we will be doing it again next year as there was a lot of enthusiasm from others to take part in it.”

Also on Friday, the school's sixth form students and staff wore Christmas jumpers to help raise about £300 for Save the Children.
