A ST Neots teenager has been named Miss Congeniality at the finals of Miss Intercontinental UK.

Delia Rose Phillips, 18, missed out on Miss Intercontinental England, but fellow beauty queen hopefuls voted the Abbotsley model as the person who should have won at the Palace Hotel, Manchester.

“I haven’t stopped smiling since the event,” she said. “It was just an incredible experience to be there and to be chosen to be Miss Congeniality is amazing.

“I’ve been rushed off my feet, and I’m doing a load of charity work now, including helping out with Young Lives, that I haven’t been able to do before.”

Not content with her current title, Miss Phillips, who is sponsored by Escape Beauty, has already beaten 19,500 girls to reach the semi-finals of Teen Queen UK. From May 1 to 15 she is looking for votes to secure her place in the final.

She added: “I’m so excited about Teen Queen, it would mean so much to me to reach the final and get to wear my dresses again. If I win, it will open up so many more opportunities to help oput with charities - I can’t wait. Hopefully loads of people will vote for me and the money from the vote goes to charity.”
