Members of the St Neots TimeBank finally managed to celebrate their sixth anniversary on March 17 after heavy snow forced them to cancel an earlier event.

The TimeBank now has 205 members, which means there is a multitude of skills available, who have given 6,450 hours to people who needed help with everyday tasks.

Co-ordinator Georgina Corley put the success of the TimeBank down to the enthusiasm of the members.

“The coming year looks set to be even more active in co-operation with other organisations,” she said.

“The TimeBank will be organising a dog show at the IWA St Neots Water Festival and also working with TimeBanking UK looking at the help TimeBanks can offer to those people coming home from hospital.”

The group welcomes new members and those interested in becoming involved to its monthly coffee mornings, which take place on the first Saturday of each month. The meetings take place at St Mary’s Church Hall, in St Neots and have a new theme each month. The next meeting on April 7 is a pamper day when therapist members will donate their time to give trial sessions of therapies.

There is a new friends group on the third Friday of the month and the next get together will be on April 20, from 11am till 1.30pm at the Priory Centre. Members and non-members are welcome to go along for a chat and enjoy coffee in a friendly atmosphere.
