A SOLDIER from St Neots has become the 419th member of the British forces to die in Afghanistan.
Corporal Alex Guy was killed on Friday (June 15) after being caught in an ambush in the Nad-e Ali district of Helman province.
The 37-year-old was serving with the 1st Battalion Royal Anglian Regiment, known as The Vikings, which he joined in 1993.
Cpl guy was born in Norwich but grew up in St Neots.
He leaves behind his wife, Emma, sisters Rebecca and Martha and his mother and father.
