The school was given the platinum award by music organisation Sing Up in recognition of its focus on pupils and staff alike exercising their vocal cords at every opportunity. It will now become an ambassador to other schools, providing an example of how singing can be incorporated into all areas of the curriculum. Its efforts include a childrens choir, a staff choir, recorder groups, and singing modern music such as tunes from Disney film Frozen. The school were told about their success in November, and has now received a plaque which is due to be displayed soon. Jane Hemingway, music coordinator, said: We have worked jolly hard for it - its just fantastic. The children absolutely love any type of singing. We try and make it as fun as possible and as current as possible.
