Jack, who lived at Paynes Mill Foyer in Phoenix Square, has not been seen since Monday, February 11.

He was last seen leaving the foyer, which houses young people aged between 16 and 25, at 8pm that day.

Half-an-hour later, a member of the public called the emergency services after seeing a person matching Jack’s description jumping from St Neots Town Bridge.

Emergency services immediately launched a search of the water, working downstream to Little Paxton Locks, but were unable to find anyone.

The search continued throughout the week with the Spartan water rescue team and Cambridgeshire Search and Rescue (Camsar) assisting officers.

The river search resumed on Monday this week and officers were aided by Bedfordshire police’s river search boat yesterday.

As The Hunts Post went to press last night (Tuesday) Jack hadn’t been found.

More than 3,700 people from across the country have ‘liked’ a ‘Help Find Jack Oxlee’ Facebook page, set up by a family friend, with many offering to help with the search. Other users have shared the page with their friends in a desperate attempt to find Jack.

The host of the Facebook page, posted on Sunday that Jack’s mum had expressed her “sincere gratitude to everyone that has shared and liked Jack’s page” and to all those that have taken to Twitter.

She added: “She just cannot thank you all enough. As you can imagine she is worried sick about her son and to see so many complete strangers, as well as friends and relatives, come forward in this way is helping her to stay positive.”

A spokesman for Axiom Housing, which runs Paynes Mill Foyer, said: “Along with all the residents of the foyer, everyone at Axiom is really saddened by the news and we extend our sympathy to his family and friends. We, like them, are bracing ourselves.”

Jack is white, 6ft 2in, slim with shoulder-length dreadlocks and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a cream hooded top, dark tracksuit bottoms and a dark jacket.

Detective Sergeant Kath McCready said: “Jack’s family is very concerned for his welfare and we would urge anyone with any information as to his whereabouts to call police.”
