A St Neots builders’ merchant has donated £700-worth of materials to The Hillings care home in Eaton Socon.

The care home, in Grenville Way, provides care and support to elderly adults, including those living with dementia.

Ben Walker, manager at Gibbs & Dandy, in Vulcan Way, presented the home with new fencing for one of the main garden areas, which has since been erected. The home, which supports more than 70 adults, has undergone a refurbishment of its lounge, including new furnishings, soft seating, carpets, decoration, television and accessories. St Neots mayor Cllr Derek Giles and mayoress Cllr Sandie Giles was invited to officially open the completed room.

Deb Wiltshire, manager of The Hillings said: “The make overs both in and out of the home are great and our residents are enjoying using the inside and outside spaces. We are extremely grateful to Gibbs & Dandy for kindly donating the new fence panels and are delighted to have these up, ensuring the garden for our Daisy wing is safe and secure. Ben Walker visited The Hillings at the end of July so residents and staff could all thank him personally for the company’s continued kindness and generosity to our home.
