FUNDRAISERS hauled in more than £11,000 on Sunday as the pulled a fire engine over a distance of four miles.

Teams from The Cambridgeshire Hunter pub, The Hare and Hounds, Wyboston Lakes, The Pig ‘n’ Falcon and St Neots Pubwatch took part in the eighth St Neots Fire Engine Pull to raise money for Burns Camp which organises summer camps at Grafham Water for young burns survivors.

Money was raised mainly through sponsorship for the teams pulling and also from a raffle which was held at The Cambridgeshire Hunter in Eynesbury on the day.

Prizes up for grabs in the raffle included a 1966 England shirt signed by Sir Geoff Hurst, eight tickets for Huntingdon Races and an electric guitar.

Event organiser Dave Webster said: “The good weather ensured that the crowds came out in force supporting the pull the whole length of the journey. This is a fantastic amount of money to raise and I would like to thank everyone who contributed in any way to what turned out to be another successful event.”
