A St Neots man will be back in the saddle later this month for his latest fundraising bike ride.

Gary Childerley, pictured, who works for Sealed Air, has already raised £3,900 for the Alzheimer’s Society having completed two sponsored rides for the charity.

But he will be back on the road, returning to the north of England, to again take on the ‘Coast to Coast’ cycle challenge – 172 miles from Workington to Whitby in three days.

He will set off on August 28 and said he is aiming to raise another £1,100 to help the fight against Alzheimer’s – money that would push his total over the £5,000 mark.

The trip is being self-funded by Gary so all donations received will go to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Gary, 55, said he hoped to make people more aware of the terrible consequences that families face when one of their closest is diagnosed with dementia, something his father, Gerald, suffered.
