England boxing champion Tommy Martin dropped in on his former school to help inspire its current crop of students.
The St Neots pugilist has been enjoying a break after winning the light-welterweight title at the O2 Arena on January 31.
Before his return to training, the 20-year-old popped into Longsands College, where he attended the morning staff meeting and two assemblies and spoke about his hard work and determination.
A school spokesman said: “We invited him in as he had won the title. He spoke to two assemblies and talked about his aspirations and how he’s had to work hard to get where he is. I think he inspired the students.
“He also handed out signed photographs, which was really nice of him as he didn’t have to do that.”
