Members sat in trepidation of their handbags being taken away when a Jack Russell paid a visit in March.
Running off with handbags was one of his tricks, explained his owners, Marion Radford and Brian House, when they gave a talk entitled Trials and Tribulations of Living with Animals.
They declared that their house was always dirty and smelly through the animals they cared for, but they would not change their lives for anything.
They both gave anecdotes about the various animals they had looked after, and explained that although they are not a rescue centre, they are frequently asked for advice on how to look after various pets, including a woodpecker.
The Jack Russell charmed the members with a few tricks ... and refrained from running off with a handbag.
