An event called Sue’s Do ... because it was the idea of Susan Pocock from St Ives has raised £2,700 for the Macmillan Woodlands Centre Appeal.
An evening at Hemingford Sports and Social Club on January 3 included a dinner, games and a silent auction for prizes including a laptop, football match tickets, jewellery and beauty vouchers.
There were games and musical entertainment from Chumbucket and a group made up of St Ives teenagers, Abbie Mantle, Simon Pocock and Connor Freeman.
The guests were invited to give extra cash by putting notes into envelopes in a bucket. At the end of the night, one of the envelopes won the donor a case of wine.
