Shop assistant and quilter Alison Bailey has created a quilt that is being raffled off to customers, friends and family in aid of the charity. Manager Darren Hammond said: In the run up to Remembrance Day Alison thought she would do something a bit different to remember the day, as a keen quilter she decided to make the quilt. After dedicating many weeks to completing the quilt it is now filled with poppies and brightly coloured shapes all sewn on by Alison. The blanket has been on display in the shop, on Constable Road, for the last three weeks and people have been given the chance to win the quilted work of art. Our customers have liked the fact that it is something a bit different and they have been admiring it when they come into the store, added Mr Hammond. So far the team have raised more than £150 for the charity that supports thousands of men, women and their families from the Armed Forces.
