The Rotary Club of St Ives is appealing for donations of any unwanted, unloved or long-forgotten musical instruments as part of a new campaign.

The club will donate any instruments it receives to children in schools and organisations in Cambridgeshire, in a bid to encourage more children to take up music.

The rotary club's organiser, Adrian Acton, said: "This is a really exciting project for us, which met with a tremendous response when we made a similar appeal a few years back.

"We were successful in finding good homes for all the instruments donated and we would hope to do this again."

Instruments will be cleaned, serviced and restrung by the rotary club.

Anyone who would like to donate an instrument can do so by bringing them along to Slepe Hall Hotel, in Ramsey Road, St Ives; The Hunts Post, in High Street, Huntingdon; or Wellington Wise Estate Agents, in Market Road, St Ives.
