An inspired musician has created his debut album based on his experiences of feeling anxious and suffering with depression.

Jack Marriott, from Green Leys, St Ives, has written and recorded the four track album ‘Anxious & Rapping’ with all proceeds going to Anxiety UK, a charity that has helped him through his journey.

The 24-year-old, who has suffered from mental health issues for around six years, recorded the album after releasing his first song Monster last year which was about his battle with his illness.

“People really liked the song when it was released the song last summer, that is when I got the idea to record an album and donate all the proceeds to the charity,” said Jack.

Through writing and recording the songs Jack hopes that it will inspire others going through similar issues to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

“It really helped get my feelings off my chest – I really hope people listen to it and realise there is hope and that it doesn’t last forever.”

The album was recorded at Perry Road Studios in Huntingdon with the help of producer Greg Stephenson.

“It was a dream come true, being in the studio and actually recording the album as it is something that I have always wanted to do since a young age,” added Jack.

The album was recorded and produced in a day to the delight of Jack who said “it is amazing”.

Anxious & Rapping is now out on Amazon for £5 and been great fantastic support so far.
