ST IVES businesses have teamed up to create a Christmas offer designed to lure people into the town with hundreds of deals all costing 10.

Almost 50 shops, restaurants and cafes will be taking part in ‘Tennerday’ this Saturday (October 20) to offer shoppers gifts, meal deals and beauty treatments.

The day has been organised by the St Ives Retail Group, led by Cloud Nine Gems’ owner Maria Needham who hopes it will remind shoppers about everything the town has to offer.

The deals include a selection of jewellery, scarves, hair accessories and bags at Cloud Nine Gems for 10 each, Lady Jayne’s Lingerie is offering 10 per cent off products, Flood’s Tavern is promoting two meals for 10 and a bottle of house wine for 10, and Italian restaurant Amore is offering a two course lunch for 10.

Businesses taking part will have balloons outside and posters promoting the event in their windows.

Mrs Needham said: “We have a lot of new shops in the town and this is a good way to promote what’s available. Some people still think of the shops St Ives used to have but the town has changed quite a lot over the last few months.

“We’re hoping that customers will come to the town and see what we have, so they remember what there is to offer when they do their Christmas shopping.”

Last Wednesday (October 10) St Ives Town Council agreed to pay up to 2,098 to advertise the event, match funding the businesses involved.
