Two men were seen starting fires in the thatching of houses in the two villages in apparently random attacks.
Signs appealing for information have been put up urging people to contact police if they know anything.
The first happened in New Road, Offord Cluny at 12.37am, followed by another in West End Road, Brampton, which was spotted by a passing fire crew from Sawtry at 1.10am.
The next was reported just 500 yards away on The Green in Brampton at 1.21am, followed by another in the High Street at 1.41am.
A final fire was found at The Green but all were put out by 2.29am and no one was hurt.
The male suspects drove a red hatchback with a loud exhaust and were described as white and aged 25-30. The first was about 6ft 4in-6ft 6in, thin and wore a dark hooded top and trousers while the other was shorter, stocky with brown wavy hair and wore a grey hooded top and black trousers.
