Police are appealing for information after a shop in Offord Darcy that sells babies and children’s items was ram-raided.

A car was used to smash the door and force entry at the BabyBe shop in High Street and thieves made off with a highchair and a car seat.

The incident happened some time between 5pm on October 27 and 7.15am the following day and has left shop owner Katy Levey feeling shocked and upset.

"It's not just me, people in the village are feeling shocked that something like this could happen here," said Katy who opened the business three months ago.

Katy told The Hunts Post she was alerted by the owner of a hairdressers who runs a business adjacent to hers.

"There was a knock at the door at 7.30am and I went to the shop to find the police there. We think a car had been reversed into the shop and that maybe they got what they came for or they were spooked by the alarm."

The offenders stole a Besafe Izi Go Modular car seat and an oak and blue coloured Nomi highchair.

Anyone with information about the raid or the stolen items is asked to call police on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
