North West Cambridgeshire MP, Shailesh Vara has confirmed his support for Michael Gove in the Conservative leadership contest.
Announcing his decision on Thursday, the Justice and Work and Pensions Minister said: βI have worked very closely with Michael Gove at the Ministry of Justice and have been very impressed with him.
βHe is a man of conviction with a very sharp intellect. He cares passionately about Britain and I believe he has the necessary qualities to lead our negotiations with the EU.β
Earlier, Huntingdon MP Jonthan Djanogly had declared his support for Boris Johnson, only for the former mayor of London to announce he would not be standing in the leadership contest.
The contest was called after Prime Minister David Cameron announced he would be stepping down in the wake of the vote to leave the European Union.
