FIVE further arrests have been made as police investigate the robberies of security guards in St Neots and Huntingdon.
Police are conducting “moving enquiries”, and have held the five in custody in Huntingdon, in addition to the two men arrested on the day of the incident.
The two 19-year-olds charged with the attempted robbery of �25,000 from a security guard at Sainsbury’s in Huntingdon on January 27, Vimal Jadeja and Nathan Murray-Williams, both from Ilford, have been remanded in custody until their next court appearance.
At Huntingdon Crown Court on Friday (February 4), they spoke only to confirm their names, and will enter pleas to the charges on April 13. Murray-Williams is also charged with assault.
Prosecutor John Goodier told the court: “The police are conducting what they call ‘moving enquiries’. Five other persons have been arrested and are currently in custody in Huntingdon, in connection with this and other linked matters.”
Three other youths, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with the robbery of cash from a security guard outside the Argos store in St Neots on December 29.
Two men, Nathan Wellington, 29, of Romford, and Boglys Kaobo, 19 and from Dagenham, have been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery in relation to the incidents at Sainsbury and Argos.
