The new system, known as Open+, will allow library uses to access resources, including book borrowing, WiFi, and pre-book meeting rooms, outside of staffed hours. Cambridgeshire County Council is holding an induction session on Thursday from 1.30-4.30pm at the library to help users familiarise themselves with the new system. Cllr Mac McGuire, the county councils chairman of highways and community infrastructure committee said: Library staff will be on hand to answer your questions about Open+ at two special induction sessions. When the self-service system goes live, we will be asking for your feedback as part of the trial. Your feedback will help us decide what role Open+ will play in the library service in future. The Open+ trial will allow for the reinstatement of Sunday opening hours (noon to 4pm) that were temporarily lost following a public consultation and for additional hours on a Thursday afternoon (1.30-6pm).
