A group of scouts did their bit to show there is more to teenagers than hoodies and video games and took part in a charity bike ride of more than 400 miles at the weekend.

Will Hewlett and Molly Gregorious pedalled hundreds of miles on exercise bikes in the foyer of Tesco supermarket in

St Neots to raise funds for a trip of a life-time to Japan next month.

The teenagers are two of just 35 Scouts in Cambridgeshire to have been chosen to take part in the World Scout Jamboree from July 23.

Helped along by a their fellow Scouts and taking it in turns they managed to keep cycling non-stop from 9am-4pm and raise more than £400 towards their trip.

Will's mum Michaela said: "We are so proud of him. He has been planning this and fund-raising for about 18 months and he has done it all on his own. It would've been so easy to give him the money but instead he has raised the £3,000 needed to fund it on his own."
