Dozens of scooter riders turned up in Hartford to join the first-ever Easter egg ride in aid of Hinchingbrooke Hospital.
The event took place on March 18 and was organised by the Hunts NMA Scooter Club, with riders from clubs as far afield as Peterborough, Cambridge, Norwich, King’s Lynn and Northampton also showing their support.
Organisers say about 100 riders met at the Barley Mow pub to help transport a haul of some 200 Easter eggs to the Huntingdon hospital.
Club member Peter Lee said: “After handing over the donation to the A&E nurses we regrouped and rode to the Golden Knight pub to conclude the day with a little socialising and to draw a raffle.
“We would like to thank the Barley Mow, the Golden Knight, Tesco Huntingdon and anyone else that helped or donated to the cause. It has turned out to be a very well-supported event and we’ve received many messages of thanks from staff at the hospital which is much appreciated.”
Ticket sales and donations taken on the day raised £150 which will be donated to the Memory Box fund for bereaved parents.
