A TEENAGER from Sawtry has chassd her way into one of Europe’s leading dance schools.

Zoe White, 17, of The Maltings, secured her place at London’s Central School of Ballet after a series of auditions last year.

Selected from over 400 applicants, the ex-Sawtry Community College student will now spend the next three years living in London training with some of the world’s most renowned dance tutors.

Zoe told The Hunts Post: “It’s really hard work but enjoyable at the same time.

“There’s always a feeling that you’re doing something special and it’s especially good to meet other students from around the world who are also on the course.”

Zoe began dancing at the age of eight at the St Ives School of Dance and went on to gain 11 GCSEs and five AS levels before embarking on a full-time career in dance.

In the final year of the course, she will join the school’s touring company Ballet Central which will perform at 22 venues including the Lowry in Salford Quays and the Linbury Studio Theatre at the Royal Opera House.

Zoe added: “My goal is to get to dance with a company in either ballet or contemporary dance.

“We work six days a week but it’s really inspiring and worth it.”
