Michael Newsome, 24, of Crabapple Close, admitted possessing cannabis with intent to supply on November 12 as well as supplying a class B drug in August last year. He also pleaded guilty to growing cannabis at Sawtry Fen between April 1 and November 2 last year. Katie Kavanagh, 18, of Louthe Way, also admitted supplying cannabis last August. At Peterborough Crown Court on Tuesday, September 16, Newsome was given a 12-month sentence, suspended for 12 months, and was ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work. The court also confiscated £215. Kavanagh was given a two-year conditional discharge. Detective Constable Mark Joslin said: The convictions of Michael Newsome and Katie Kavanagh send a strong message that supplying drugs will not be tolerated in Cambridgeshire. We will always pursue those involved with this kind of activity with the full force of the law.
