RIDING high following their A Level success Sawtry Community College proved their Year 11 students were just as hungry for great results.

The percentage of students who achieved five or more A* to C grades at GCSE was a whopping 98 per cent.

Pupils achieving five or more A* - Cs, including English and Maths, was a healthy 65 per cent, and those achieving at least two higher grades in Science subjects was 94 per cent.

Seven Sawtry students achieved the English Baccalaureate combination of qualifications.

In addition, over 50 per cent of all entries achieved grade B or higher with 20 per cent reaching an A or A*.

Deputy Principal, Nigel Smith, told The Hunts Post: “These are another excellent set of results with two to three of the students achieving five A* to C grades at GCSE including maths and English as part of their programme.

“Science, ICT and Maths continue to be a real strength at the college.

“We’d like to congratulate all the students and staff for their achievements this year and recognise the enormous effort they have put in to achieve these results.

“These are our first set of results since achieving Academy status and they set a very high bar for future year groups.”
