A GROUP of workmen and a cyclist could have seen a St Neots mobile phone shop raid.

Thieves broke into Carphone Warehouse, in Market Square, at around 4am last Wednesday (August 28) and stole dozens of mobile phones, including Nokia, LG, Samsung and Blackberry handsets.

Detective Constable Karin Peters believes a group of workmen working nearby or a cyclist may have seen the thieves or the break-in in progress. She said: “The offenders were quite brazen as they forced their way through the front doors so may well have been witnessed.

“We know there was a group of workmen working nearby at the junction with New Street and a cyclist was also seen in the area. We are really keen to speak to those people as they might have witnessed the burglars or even seen the actual break-in.”
