Godmanchester Running Club will be going a lot more than the extra mile to raise funds for a charity dear to members.
Godmanchester Running Club will be going a lot more than the extra mile to raise funds for a charity dear to members.
For the first time, the club will be teaming up with The Exhibition pub Golf Society Fun Run to host its annual RUNGMC 24-hour running relay.
The event will take place from 12pm on Saturday, June 24, to 12pm on Sunday, June 25, in aid of the Macmillan Woodlands Centre appeal.
Those involved will take on laps of four miles down The Causeway, over the recreation ground, a lap of Portholme Meadow and back to The Exhibition pub for well-earned refreshments.
Over the past two years, RUNGMC and the fun run have raised about £12,000 for good causes.
Anyone interested in taking part should e-mail joe.gilbert88@gmail.com to arrange a run slot. The club asks for a recommended donation of £5 per runner, per slot.
