Runners are walkers needed in St Ives to support BHF

RUNNERS are walkers are needed to help raise funds for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) at its spring event in St Ives.

The fun run and walk is set to take place on Sunday, April 21, offering people to chance to take on a three, six or eight-mile routes – with all the registration fees and sponsorship going to help fund research in to heart failure.

The circular run/walk starts at the scout hut in the Thicket and will follow the Ouse Valley Way. It is open to individuals and teams with the runners setting off at 10am and the walkers following half an hour later.

A BHF spokesman said: “Living with heart failure can be terrifying and currently there is no cure. Sufferers can face a difficult battle that’s deeply distressing for them and their families. But there is hope for a cure and by running or walking with us this year, you will be helping to fund vital research to bring that cure closer.”
