Travellers have moved cars and caravans onto playing fields in St Neots.
The group is understood to have arrived early this week on land owned by St Neots Rugby Club, in The Common.
The club says it has launched proceedings against the group, with bailiffs expected to deliver a court order today (Friday).
In a statement issued to club members, Colin Arber, chairman of St Neots Rugby Club, said: “Some of you may have noticed we have had some travellers set up camp on the common.
“Rest assured we are doing everything legal to move them on as quickly as possible. A court order requiring them to vacate has been signed and will be delivered to them by bailiffs. Can I ask everyone to stay safe and ensure if using the club, everything is locked up after use.”
