On Thursday (April, 28) staff and children of Ashbeach School, Ramsey St Marys will be holding a street party in the school grounds.

The festivities will be officially opened by the Rt Hon Lord Mawhinney with special guests Mayor Pat Taylor and members of the British Legion and the W.I.

Over in St Ives Wheatfields nursery school is holding Royal Wedding parties where children will get the chance to dress-up in red, white and blue, play games and make a giant wedding card for the royal couple.

In Hilton members of the village are organising a celebration in the village hall including a display of wedding flowers, and selection of wedding dresses through the ages and up to now 14 royally-dressed scarecrows. There will also be a corgi-hunt for the kids.

Louise Cooper and the residents of Mansio Place in Godmanchester are pulling out all the Royal Wedding stops with a bumper street party on the 29th. With over 85 residents expected to attend, there will be a barbecue, face-painting, a bouncy castle and dressing up for everyone to enjoy.
