After their wedding, the Queen awarded the title bearing the citys name to Prince William and Kate. Residents of Cambridge have since eagerly anticipated the couples first visit to the city. Today (Wednesday) Clarence House issued a statement confirming November 28 will mark the royal couples first official joint visit to Cambridgeshire as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The couple will undertake a series of engagements including visiting the citys Guildhall and the Senate House, University of Cambridge, where they will attend a reception for about 400 people. They will also be given a tour of Jimmys resettlement centre; watch a drama, music and dance presentation at The Manor School; and visit nearby Peterborough City Hospital. Cambridge residents have waited more than 18 months for a visit from the couple.
