Royal Air Force cadets will parade through St Neots on Saturday after being granted Freedom of the Town.
Members of 2500 Squadron will set off from Huntingdon Street at 11am and will present themselves for inspection on the Market Square.
The troops will be joined by John Bridge, the high sheriff of Cambridgeshire, Richard Pemberton, and the mayor of St Neots, Councillor Derek Giles.
All town council’s have the right to bestow Freedom of the Town on anyone who has provided a service to the town.
“These young people have over many years turned out for civic events, in rain or shine, and many cadets have gone on to have a career in the armed forces,” said Cllr Giles.
“St Neots Town Council passed a resolution on January 26 to bestow this rare honour on the Royal Air Force Air Cadets 2500 Squadron here in St Neots as a way of recognising their superb commitment to our town.”
The air cadets, standards and band will step off at 11am from Huntingdon Street and parade through the town centre, arriving at the Market Square for the formal parade inspection and presentation of the freedom scroll.
“I really do hope that as many people as possible are able to attend on Saturday and show their support as this will be a very special day for the cadets and the town of St Neots,” added Cllr Giles.
