Thousands of people flocked to Huntingdon on Saturday to celebrate a decade of the Riverside Gala.

The gala started off as a platform to help charities showcase themselves and raise money but the event has since grown into a fun-filled day of entertainment for children and big kids alike.

Organising committee member, Malcolm Lyons said: “The day was a real family occasion and I was pleased, as I was walking around, to see families sitting on blankets listening to music and dancing to local groups.”

The gala saw a special visit by Elsa from Disney’s Frozen and Ariel from the Little Mermaid, along with performances from dance groups.

Dozens of charity stalls also set up home on Riverside Park to highlight the work they do and even sell some tasty treats and drinks.

“It was a great opportunity for local charities and organisations to make money for their particular funds,” Mr Lyons added.

Tails were also wagging as Wood Green Animal Shelter hosted its annual dog show.
