The consultation is seeking views on the authoritys local plan which will shape the districts development up to 2036 and include policies on housing, infrastructure, the environment and retail. Councillor Ryan Fuller, executive member for planning and housing, said: This plan has been informed by a series of studies including a Strategic Transport Study and flood risk, housing need and retail studies. It follows a number of previous rounds of consultation and takes account of the comments made on earlier drafts of the plan. The public consultation is a step forward for the authority that is aiming to submit its final plan to the government by March 2018. This plan needs to be the most appropriate strategy to meet the current and future needs of our communities and businesses, and ensure Huntingdonshire remains a great place to live, work and invest, Cllr Fuller added. The consultation on the proposed policies runs until 4.30pm on August 25. The complete local plan will be published later this year for further consultation before being submitted to government.
