Members of Godmanchester Running Club joined forces with The Exhibition Pub Golf Society to host a 24-hour relay, with dozens of runners pounding the pavements of the town on June 24 and 25.

Those involved completed a four-mile course around Portholme and, in total, more than 1,000 miles were run.

Joe Gilbert, event co-organiser, said: “Thank you to the local community for turning out in such large numbers and helping to support both our runners and our fundraising, throughout the day and the night.

“We saw a large increase in runners taking part this year from the local area and it’s great to see the community come together to help raise money for our local Woodlands Centre.”

More than £3,500 was raised for Macmillan and another £1,510 raised for the Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust.
