The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning amid predictions that parts of the county could be hit by thunderstorms tonight (Tuesday).
The storms are likely to hit across east and southeast England this evening, starting at about 4pm through and continuing until 3am tomorrow.
The Met Office has warned that there could be a chance of power cuts and other services to homes and businesses could be lost.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: “Whilst many places will miss the heaviest rain, thunderstorms are likely to affect parts of east and southeast England during Tuesday afternoon and particularly into the evening.
“The last of these storms are expected to clear from East Anglia into the North Sea during the early hours. Frequent lightning may occur along with heavy rain (as much as 20-30 mm of rain in an hour in a few places), large hail and sudden strong gusts of wind.”
The spokesman warned of difficult driving conditions in areas hit by heavy rain and winds.
