A CHARITY that supports vulnerable children and families was officially re-launched on Thursday (March 8).

Home-Start relocated from Huntingdon High Street to larger premises in Eynesbury in order to accommodate its increasing case load. The building, a former cycle shop, was transformed by the Luminus Group.

Senior co-ordinator, Julie Nicholson, told The Hunts Post: “There have been a lot of services taken out of St Neots and I believe it’s important to get something back in the town. These premises mean we are more visible to the community, right on the main road, and people can easily drop in.”

Home-Start helps people across Huntingdonshire and North Fenland with problems such as post-natal illness, isolation, bereavement, disability, and domestic violence.

Ms Nicholson said that since relocating to St Neots in October last year, the charity has seen an increase in referrals.

Mayor of St Neots, Barry Chapman, who attended the launch, said: “I am pleased to welcome Home-Start to St Neots. The enthusiasm of volunteers, staff and trustees combined with the support of Luminus will be of great benefit to families throughout west Cambridgeshire.”
