The Cameroon lamb was one of a set of twins born on Monday, August 11. Christened Ben and Jerry by owner Elaine Edwards and daughter Sam, unfortunately only Ben survived. Its often the way with twins, said Mrs Edwards, of Elm Drive, Offord Cluny. The mother concentrated on the healthier one. Originating in West Africa, the breed is known for its goat-like appearance and short hair. You dont have to shear them, their fur just peels off, which is why we got them. Theyre low maintenance, Mrs Edwards added. The Edwards bought two Cameroon sheep to help keep the stinging nettles down in the field where they also have two horses and two ponies. Ben joins his mother, Ruby, father Rambo and sister Lulu, another called Les after Mrs Edwards father, as well as a Soay sheep called Larry.
