They joined other RAF voluntary band musicians to play in the Mall and were directly underneath the massive armada of aircraft which flew over Buckingham Palace. Wing Commander Martin Larwood-Hughes, who plays cornet and was involved in organising the event, said: It was a great honour to take part in the celebrations. It was a fantastic flypast. We had a fantastic view of it - we were directly underneath. The massed voluntary band, including the Wyton team led by bandmaster Graham Sheldon, led people lining the street along the Mall and then played for 45 minutes at the Admiralty Arch. The main parade in the day of celebrations was led by the combined Central Bands of the RAF.
