Pupils at Middlefield Primary Academy have spent time learning about the significance of Remembrance Day.
They were able to learn about the historical significance of remembering those who gave their lives as well as the relevance for the armed forces today.
The youngsters made a poppy as a sign of remembrance to contribute to the school memorial. A special assembly was held and head teacher, Hannah Connor-James, reiterated the remembrance message and conducted a two-minute silence as an act of reflection with the whole school.
“The children were all very proud to see the various designs of poppy on display at the front of the school,” said Mrs Connor-James.
“Many have come to admire this memorial, which contains a range of innovatively created poppies, including: fabric, buttons, card, finger-painting and even apple prints using a scattering of poppy seeds for the centre.”
