The students donated hundreds of the items to The David School, which lies 36 miles outside of the capital Freetown a hub for youngsters in the community to go to and receive an education. The school was set up in 2008 by Ramsey Rotary Club member, David Wallwork, who visited the Ramsey students to give a presentation on the West African school and start the collection drive. These things are important and over the years schools have chipped in and helped, and this time it was the Ramsey Junior School, he said. Theres so much misery and unnecessary death and suffering in these countries. So much of it can be avoided. Mr Wallwork regularly visits the Sierra Leone school and says the supplies will arrive in a few weeks time. For more about the school, visit thedavidschool.co.uk.
