A PROLIFIC armed robber will stay in jail until 2019 after admitting four further offences.

Daniel Crow walked into Ethnic Origins, Godmanchester, on December 8, 2008, brandishing a machete and threatened a member of staff but was foiled when a member of public came to her aid and Crow left empty handed.

Just under two weeks later, on December 19, Crow demanded money at gunpoint from staff at Coral bookmakers in Huntingdon who handed him £230.

The 28-year-old was back in action three days later, again armed with something that looked like a handgun as he demanded money from the One Stop, Godmanchester, and stole £314.98.

On January 26, 2009, Crow broke into St Michael’s church, Huntingdon, and stole £500 from the safe.

In December 2011 Crow, formerly of the Coach and Horses, Ermine Street, Huntingdon, was jailed for eight months for smashing his way into a Godmanchester chemist JG Clifford with an axe in October, 2011, prompting a two-hour stand-off with armed police.

As the incident was committed while on licence after being released from prison, two years into a four-year sentence for attempting the hold up the Cineworld while wearing a balaclava and brandishing a fake gun, he was jailed until 2015.

On Thursday (January 17) at Peterborough Crown Court Crow was jailed for four-and-a-half years to run consecutive with his current sentence. He previously admitted the three robberies and the burglary.

Det Insp Jon McAdam said: “This is a fantastic result which shows our determination to ensure justice is done.

“This was a harrowing experience for all the victims and something that will stay with them forever. The admissions made by Crow and the sentence will hopefully go some way to offering them closure and ensuring Huntingdon is a safer place.”
